Blake's 7: The Hunted
Big Finish audio
in Restoration Part 1
In a stolen ship, Avon and Vila try to hold off a fleet led by the President of the Federation, buying time for Dayna, Tarrant and Cally to scavenge parts to save the Liberator.
Blake's 7: The Hunted is available from Big Finish in the Restoration Part 1 box set. Notes: I love war movies. I grew up with a dad who was a soldier, my uncle was a soldier, another uncle was career navy and a bunch of cousins were in the forces. I think I was a disappointment to the family for choosing to be a scribbler. I did think of joining the forces very briefly when I was about 20 and Dad was chuffed until he found out I was thinking of the RAF and I was looking at officer training. My old man was a staff sergeant so the idea of his son disgracing him by becoming an officer - and with the fly-boys no less... anyway, setting all that aside, from my earliest days I can remember watching war movies with Dad. I always enjoyed movies with a good naval battle and I always had a thing about submarines. They're an invisible killer. I've been fascinated by them ever since. Run Silent, Run Deep and Ice Station Zebra are two favourites. More recently The Hunt for Red October is a cracking movie. Star Trek did their version of submarine warfare with Balance of Terror and so when I was asked to do a story with Avon and Vila away from a wrecked Liberator it just felt like it was time for Blake's 7 to do its war movie... and here it is.
