BLAKE'S 7
I've been lucky enough to work on a number of Blake's 7 audios for Big Finish. It's a real blast working on a show that's been part of your consciousness since you were 10 years old. Blake's 7 was something I watched with my dad. Happy memories. Add to that I got to work with Cav Scott and Justin Richards on the first two of these, which was terrific. I have enormous respect for both. I also admire John Ainsworth a great deal - he's done loads of really good work that I like, and he was boss on the third Blake's 7 I did.
To cap it all mine have all been Vila-centric stories, so... excellent all round.

GHOST SHIP
Vila is scared. Of course he is. Vila is always scared.
He should feel safe. He is on board the Liberator, the most powerful ship ever constructed. He is home – but he is certainly not alone.
Ghostly figures stalk the corridors of the Liberator. Spectres who know Vila’s name.
Revenants. Demons.
And Vila has nowhere to run.
Blake's 7: Ghost Ship is available from Big Finish.

ME AND BLAKE'S 7
or
"Why this fabulous show means so much to me..."
POISON
Federation Freighter Antares is a ship with many secrets. Why is it making regular runs to a heavily guarded frontier world? Why is the hold out of bounds? And who is watching the crew’s every move?
Events take a dangerous turn when two new recruits come on board. Will Jance and Voss survive their very first mission together?
This was the second story in Blake's 7: The Liberator Chronicles - Volume 11.

There are some shows which have a special place in my heart for reasons far beyond the quality of the show in question. I think Blake's 7 was a great TV shows (and later added to quite fabulously by Big Finish).
However, my fondness for Blake's 7 comes from the fact that I watched it with my Dad. I was 10 when it started and he and I watched it together
THE HUNTED
In a stolen ship, Avon and Vila try to hold off a fleet led by the President of the Federation, buying time for Dayna, Tarrant and Cally to scavenge parts to save the Liberator.
Unmade ideas
TERRORIST
I had just started work on a Blake's 7 story when the sad news came that Gareth Thomas had passed away. He was a fabulous actor and just terrific as Blake. He was great in everything else I saw/heard him in, too. The story I was working on was titled TERRORIST and in it I wanted to look at the difference between a terrorist and a freedom fighter, and go into how authoritarian governments use propaganda to shape public perception. I didn't get far beyond the basic outline and a revision of that which fleshed out the plot strands and the shape a bit more. I had a lot of stuff in mind for this one that I liked. It would have been a Blake-centric Season 2 story, and had a very downbeat ending.
When he was producing the Blake's 7 audios, Cav Scott had some really good ideas for... well, I won't say what but they were great ideas and because there was a bit of relation to one of my scripts, Cav told me a bit about it. Really sad it didn't happen. Those were great ideas. Cav was a great producer to work with and I really enjoyed Justin Richards' input as script editor.
